COVID-19 Has Arrived In Jersey County

JERSEYVILLE - The Jersey County Health Department posted a release via Facebook Wednesday evening that a confirmed case of COVID-19 has been identified.

The case is identified as a Jersey County male resident in his 50's who is now hospitalized.

The health department is attempting to identify close contacts.

The first COVID-19 death reported by the IL Department of Public Health occurred on March 17th. Today, April 1, 141 deaths were reported. Deaths from the disease are doubling approximately every 2 days with the projected peak to be around April 15th.
