Piasa Ends Game Early Against Jersey
Josie Boullion and Megan Bailey were each four-for-four with two RBIs, Bri Roloff was two-for-three with three RBIs, and Mayci Wilderman and Bailee Nixon each had two RBIs in Southwestern’s win over Jersey.
Southwestern head girls softball coach Peg Mitchell said her girls are playing some good ball right now. "We are doing some things well," she said. "Our best is yet to come. We are pleased, but not yet satisfied. We have two seniors doing a nice job on and off the field and that is a positive; some young players are stepping up and doing some good things. Next week we are at Brussels Monday, Wednesday against Bunker Hill and Thursday against North Greene and Saturday at the Tri where we play Jersey and Rock Falls."
Brooke Tuttle was three-for-four with a RBI, while Lauren Brown and Chelsea Maag were each two-for-four for the Panthers.
Sydney Baumgartner went all the way in getting the win for the Piasa Birds.
Southwestern goes to 6-1, while Jersey falls to 1-2.
