Juniors Take Three Games In Two Days
Kirkwood & Gillespie Are No Match For Jerseyville Jr. Legion
JERSEYVILLE - Jerseyville Junior American Legion team had a big weekend Saturday and Sunday in Jerseyville, winning three of four games.
Jerseyville toppled Kirkwood 14-2 and 14-3 on Saturday and then lost to Gillespie 10-2 and won the nightcap 3-1 Sunday.
Jerseyville manager Joe Kallal said his team is young and has met a lot of older teams, but they were on track over the weekend.
He praised his entire team for their hitting and their performances.
John Collins had two hits Saturday and Sunday. Blake Rudolph also had two hits in the opener Saturday.
Luke Wagner was hit with the bases loaded Saturday and enabled his team to score the winning run in the nightcap with the bases loaded.
