Southwestern Hot Streak With 3 More Wins

BRIGHTON - Southwestern’s boys baseball team recorded three wins Sunday and Wedne

sday.

On Sunday, Southwestern defeated Jersey Junior Legion 7-2 and 16-2,  then on Wednesday night topped Gillespie 6-5.

Wednesday night, Chase Stahl had three hits, concluding a double, Trever Seets and Austin Brown both pounded out two hits apiece and Brown was the winning pitcher.

On Sunday, Kyler Seyfried had a triple with two hits and two RBI for Southwestern. Brian Bergesch was the winning pitcher.
Seets had three hits and five RBI in the nightcap Sunday and Chase Stahl, Isaac Marshall, Ethan Trimm and Brady Salzman had two hits.

Southwestern was 8-2 overall. Southwestern plays at Greenville at noon Saturday against Vandalia and 2 p.m. against Greenville.

Southwestern head coach Brian Hanslow and Jerseyville coach Joe Kallal both said they are excited for the future with their kids and the talent that will be coming up through their system. “We see big things coming from this group,” Kallal said.
