BREAKING NEWS - Missing Person Bonnie Woodward Press Conference
BREAKING NEWS - Jersey County Sheriff John Wimmersberg, Alton Police Chief Jake Simmons, Madison County State’s Attorney Tom Gibbons, and Jersey County State’s Attorney Ben Goetten have scheduled a press conference at the Alton Police Department Thursday afternoon to speak about new developments in the investigation of the disappearance of Bonnie Woodward in June 2010.
The press conference follows another search involving excavating equipment of the Roger Carroll property located 4 miles northeast of Brighton in Jersey County. Carroll was investigated in 2010 when his fingerprints were found on Bonnie Woodward's vehicle after her disappearance.
Carroll was charged last month with domestic battery and felony restraint after his wife alleged he used a stun gun to subdue her, drug her by the hair and locked her the laundry room of their home. Carroll's bond was set at $10,000 by Jersey County Judge Pistorius.
Carroll has also had at least two charges pending for several years from Madison County dating to 2010 of harboring a runaway and felony obstruction of justice/destroying evidence. The misdemeanor harboring a runaway case was consolidated into the felony case. The 2010 felony case now shows a jury trial date of May 14, 2018 and Carroll's bond in that case was revoked by the Madison County court.
Carroll also has a divorce in pending in Jersey County that was filed in January of this year.
