GREENFIELD - Kassidy Walters closed in on 1,700 points to conclude her girls' basketball career with Greenfield-Northwestern and her accomplishments will not soon be forgotten.

Walters finished only about 300 points off 2,000 for her career and said in her final game that she was proud of the 9-11 season for the Tigers and her other achievements. She also won the 2017 Three Point Showdown for IHSA Class 1A schools.

Greenfield head girls basketball coach Caleb Williams said he was proud of Walters for her fantastic season and what she has meant to the Tigers program.

Walters said one of her goals this year and in her time with Greenfield-Northwestern’s program was to turn the program around and she believes she and her teammates did that this year. The Tigers reached the regional championship game this year before losing.

Walters has not decided on which college she will attend, but now that the season is over that will become her focus.

“Playing collegiate basketball is an honor itself because you are playing on the next level up,” she said.

Walters said the academic side of college will be as important to her as basketball and she wants to find the right school to fit those needs.
