Panthers Keep Pressure On Hawks And Take Win
CARROLLTON - Jersey’s boys defeated Carrollton 77-55 Tuesday night at Carrollton.
Kurt Hall led Jersey with 19 points, while Lucas Ross and Nathan Goldacher contributed 12 points apiece. Ethan Brannan led Carrollton with 15 points and Gabe Jones had nine points.
Carrollton stayed with Jersey in the first quarter with the score 20-17 in favor of the Panthers, but Jersey scored 24 to Carrollton’s 13 in the second quarter to take command.
Jersey head boys coach Stote Reeder said he felt the team’s defense is struggling a bit, while the offense is shining. “We have four conference games and Pittsfield left and our defense has to get better before the postseason,” he said.
Carrollton head coach Matt Goetten said Jersey had “too many athletes” for his team in the game. He said Jersey is also a Class 3A school, which definitely makes a difference.
Friday, Carrollton plays at Calhoun in an annual rivalry game.
Jersey plays at home against Triad on Friday.
