JERSEYVILLE - Kurt Hall led Jersey with 22 points, but the Panthers dropped a 64-56 Mississippi Valley Conference decision to Mascoutah at Havens Gym Tuesday night, sending JCHS to 4-6 on the year, 1-2 in the MVC; the Indians went to 5-4 overall, 3-1 in the league.
Blake Wittman added 17 points for the Panthers, with Brett Tuttle adding five on the night. The Panthers next meet Elverado and DuQuoin in the Pickneyville Duster Thomas Classic Dec. 29, meeting Eldorado at 10:30 a.m. and DuQuoin at 3:30 p.m. that day.
“We gave it to them and didn’t value the basketball,” said Stote Reeder, the Jersey coach. When you are lazy with the ball, it will be taken away. We were a different team from play to play tonight. The boys are frustrated. We want to channel that energy and do better in the upcoming tourney.”
