Wednesday, November 15, 2017 - 17:18
ht over North Greene 44-41.
North Greene and Southwestern both feature young teams.
North Greene’s LaKeleigh Brown had 21 points in the game to lead all scorers. Madison Evans and Madison McClenning added eight and six points. Southwestern’s Lexy Hall led the Piasa Birds was 15 points. Korrie Hopkins and Abbey Burns added 11 points.
The Spartans’ head coach Jim Roesch said to play back to back games and win again was something he was satisfied to see.
“Our shooting was a little off probably due to fatigue of playing Brussels,” he said. “We built up a little cushion before they came back. We could have a good season if the girls keep learning. We have a young team with not too much experience.”
Piasa Birds’ head coach Steve Wooley said his team showed character with its late-game comeback bid.
“I saw some really good things and some bad things,” Wooley said. “We battled back in the second half and put ourselves in position to win the game.”
