CARLINVILLE - Jersey's soccer team took the Carlinville Soccer Tourney championship.
The Panthers defeated Springfield Southeast 6-3 Monday night in a game that at times had some heavy rain to advance in the tourney.
Wyatt Freand and John Bray had two goals apiece for the Panthers and Logan Simpson and Gavin McGuire both scored a goal each.
Jersey claimed its fourth consecutive Carlinville Soccer Classic Tourney championship
Thursday night with a 2-1 win over Father McGivney Catholic of Maryville.
Wyatt Freand's goal in the first half proved to be the winning goal for the Panthers. John Bray also had a goal for the Panthers and David Means scored the lone McGivney goal. Neither team scored in the second half.
The Panthers return to action
Tuesday at Mascoutah. The Panthers remain unbeaten at 4-0 for the season.
