Jersey County's Got Talent!
Evans started out the competition with the age 14 and under Junior Division talent which was won by Anna and Emma Beauchamp. The Beauchamp sisters sang a difficult duet that entertained the crowd and impressed the judges. Talent Show director Alex Foster said, "They were adorable when they took the stage and began singing. Really nice voices. I was blown away. Very difficult what they were doing and their stage presence was just amazing. Can’t think of any other word than precious." The Beauchamp sisters come from a long line of performers on the Jersey Talent Show stage with older sister Olivia previously winning both the Junior and Senior divisions as well as reaching second place in state competition. Brother William also previously won the Junior Division.
The Senior portion of the show was won by Autumn Sturhahn with a dance performance. Sturhahn, from Quincy is one of the contestants that came from outside Jersey County on the first year of opening up participation from a wider area. The show rules will change again next year and the contest will be open to all Illinois citizens.
Director Foster said, "Autumn drove all the way here to participate. She is the model for professionalism. She showed up, did a quick marking on stage, walked through it and waited back stage patiently. When I saw her dance I was blown away. Beautiful technique and great stage presence. I have a dance background and was glad the judges saw the ability and developed technique and awarded her for that."
