Piasa Birds and Eagles Each Take One at Doubleheader

BETHALTO - Some solid area baseball talent was on display in a summer game on Saturday at Bethalto between Southwestern and Bethalto.

The two teams split the doubleheader, with Southwestern winning the first game 5-3 and Bethalto game two 3-1.

In game one, Luke Golike, Eddie Bolin and Ben Lewis had two hits apiece for Southwestern. Bruce Zupan and Hayden Sontag each had two hits for Bethalto.

Bolin, Jacob Simmons, Dawson Cummings, Dakota Corby and Isaac Marshall had a hit for Southwestern in the second game. Caden Clark and Jeffrey Weathers each had two hits in game two for Bethalto.

Southwestern faces Collinsville at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
