Jerseyville Junior Legion Doubleheader Goes Awry

JERSEYVILLE - The Jerseyville Junior Legion baseball squad lost a doubleheader to Kirkwood, Mo., 5-4 and 12-3 Sunday.

Manager Joe Kallal said he thought his boys started off in solid fashion in both games, but Kirkwood had a strong offensive attack.

“We seem to have one bad inning that goes past us,” Kallal said about recent Jerseyville action.

The Jerseyville Junior Legion team hosts Roxana in Jerseyville at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Dylan Wilson and Drew Meyers were starting pitchers in both the first and second games for Jerseyville.

Meyers and A.J. Carey both had solid days at the plate for Jerseyville on Sunday.
