Southwestern Loses Sectional Championship

VANDALIA - Teutopolis eliminated Southwestern 7-2 in Saturday’s IHSA Class 2A Vandalia Sectional baseball championship.

Southwestern’s Collin Baumgartner struck out eight in the losing battle, still pitching at his always high level.

Troy Evans led the Piasa Birds with two hits. Eddie Bolin and Ben Lowis had the other two Southwestern hits. Lowis had two RBIs. Bolin and Baumgartner scored the Birds’ runs.
