CARROLLTON - Carrollton boys’ baseball team defeated Nokomis 4-3 in a regional baseball thriller that went down to the wire at Carrollton on Monday afternoon. Alex Bowker and Kyle Waters drove in g
ame-winning runs for the Hawks in the bottom of the seventh against Nokomis. Walker and Blake Struble doubled in the contest for the Hawks, while Jerrett Smith tripled. Waters and Gabe Jones had the other hits for Carrollton. Carrollton, now 25-6, advances to sectional play with the win. The Hawks, who now play Bunker Hill in the Greenville Sectional semifinals at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. Nokomis finishes the year with an 18-10 mark.
