Jersey High Tennis Senior Night

JERSEYVILLE - Six Jersey high school tennis seniors - Drake Blackwell, Trevor Davis, Brady Woelfel, Luke Palcheff, Trevor Ward, John Nairn - were honored at a match this week.

Jersey is having a strong boys tennis season and has won the majority of Mississippi Valley Conference matches and is over .500 for the season under head coach Dan Diamond, who is in his 10th season.

“The boys are doing quite well this season,” Diamond said. “Our only conference losses are to Mascoutah and Triad and those were close.”
Blackwell and Davis will combine in upcoming sectional doubles competition for Jersey. The two were state qualifiers last year and Diamond said he hopes they and possibly some other Panther players can make it again this year.

“These seniors will be sorely missed after this season,” said Diamond.
