HARDIN - Carrollton’s boys baseball won round one of the two-game WIVC South title series 8-4 Tuesday afternoon at Hardin.
Kolten Bottom led the way with three hits, including a double for the Hawks, Nathan Walker tripled and had two hits and four RBI. Alex Bowker, Hayden Stringer, Tyler Barnett and Jeremy Watson each had hits for the Hawks. Bottom was the winning pitcher.
Calhoun’s Gunner Armbruster and A.J. Hillen had two hits and Wes Klocke cracked two hits. Ty Bick, Trent Buchanan and Reese Friedel added hits.
Carrollton hosts Pittsfield today, while Calhoun plays at Brussels, then the two teams meet again at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Carrollton.
