Jeff Kao

Jeff Kao is a Data Science student at Metis in San Francisco, CA.

Jeff is passionate about work involving natural language processing; however, he is equally comfortable solving data problems using old-school statistical models, modern data science techniques or deep learning.

Recently, he has built systems that:

  • cluster and analyze millions of comments submitted to the FCC;
  • provide more context on news spread through social media;
  • predict NBA players' stats based on past performance.

Kao has worked in small startups, large international law firms and in government. He has a systems engineering degree from the University of Waterloo and a law degree from Columbia University.
